Lets face it, Amazon doesn't always have the 'best' stuff on here. I was looking for snaps for some halibut gear that I'm putting together and needed something reliable. These seem to fit the bill and I got the five inchers. One review that made me nervous indicated that these were so stiff that you can't operate them easily, "These are incredibly stiff and difficult to open -- and this is coming from someone with rockclimber hand-strength. The wire gauge is way too large." Well, I've never claimed to have 'rockclimber hand-strength' and I can operate them just fine one handed. The only way theses aren't what I'm looking for is if they disintegrate in the salt water. If they do that, I'll come back and let you know, otherwise, seems like what I was looking for and will likely get more in the future. I'm snapping them onto 5/8 inch lead-line.
